The following posters of The Beatles were created by American fashion and portrait photographer Richard Avedon (1923 - 2004). The applied graphics were done by British designer Richard Weigand, who I hung out with in New York in 1969. After a long career in publishing in New York, Richard Weigand is now (2013) Art Director of The New York Times.

  1. Hi Poul

I'm in the process of putting together a standalone edition of Shinidg! magazine covering the late 1960s London underground/counterculture scene and would like somebody in the know to write a piece about the related art scene(s) and the effect of psychedelia on the art of the time. Is this something you'd be interested in considering doing for us?
If so, please feel free to drop me a line at andy@shindig-magazine.com and we can have a natter.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Andy

  2. Dear Paul,
i wonder if you could help me with the name of an artist who made this graphic,
    i think it's from the 60-70
it's a picture of a woman, sitting on a woolen rug, smoking a joint
in fluoresce colours, blue and orange colored

    regards, Radha
