Italian Posters - part 4

A comprehensive look at Italian poster design, from vintage to modern posters (1895 - 1971) designed by numerous designers and artists. I have included individual biographies of the artists, where found.

This is part 4 of an 11 part series on Italian Poster Design:


Aleardo Terzi (1870-1943) began working for the magazine Novissima as an illustrator, Milan in 1898. Between 1904 and 1907 he lived in London and returned to Milan to work for the record company Ricordi. In 1923 he settled in Rome, where he worked as a well-known advertising designer.

Plinio Codognato (1878 Verona - 1940 Milan) was one of the best Italian Graphic artists of the 20th Century. He designed around 150 posters for commercial products, theatre and sporting events. Codognato made his mark with many spectacular automobile designs and is best known for his works for Fiat, Ansaldo, Pirelli, Cinzano and Campari as well as his auto racing posters.
