Paul Beck was a painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Belvedere, Kent, who studied at Gravesend School of Art and Royal College of Art. Went on to teach at Cambridge School of Art. Work appeared in group shows, including RA, Cambridge Print Editions exhibitions, 1964–71, Brooklyn Museum, 1970, and elsewhere. One-man shows included Ludlow Craft Studio and Gallery, 1977, Malvern Festival, 1979, Graffiti Gallery, 1980, and a series at the Old Fire Engine House, Ely. His work is held in collections in continental Europe, Australia and America and in Britain, including Fry Art Gallery, Saffron Walden, which exhibited his posters and prints in 1997.
Paul Beck lived at Redgates, Seward's End, near Saffron Walden while teaching at the Cambridge School of Art. Trained at Gravesend School of Art and the RCA he combines printmaking with watercolour work. He worked in advertising and theatre design before teaching and later making a living in his chosen fields.
In the mid to late 1960s he was a part time tutor at Cambridge School of Art, when I was a Student there. After retiring in later life he became a friend when he was living by the sea at Ramsgate, Kent, UK.
